British glucosamine trial results still on hold
Reproduced from Issue 108 of Arthritis Today
Results of a trial into the effectiveness of the dietary supplement glucosamine sulphate are expected to be published in a leading UK medical journal within the next few months.
The trial was conducted by a consultant rheumatologist Dr Rod Hughes, at St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey, on 80 patients over a six month period.
- A trial in Belgium of 212 patients over three years has shown
that glucosamine sulphate helped patients with osteoarthritis
of the knee.
