Just changed your mobile?

Claire SweeneyClaire Sweeney says: "Don't dump it - donate it"

" I need you to act now and help find the cure for arthritis. Anyone can collect old mobile phones, whether at work, college, their club or pub. When you have collected them you send them in and, because of arc's partnership with Fonebak this is dead easy, using either a freepost envelope or a Fonebak container.

"You can get an electronic poster for your intranet or notice boards. Just email appeals@arc.org.uk to request one.

"Around 15 million phones get changed every year in the UK and about 70% can be recycled. Every re-usable phone recycled through the government-backed Fonebak initiative will generate a £5 cash donation for arc."

Visit www.fonebak.com for further information about mobile phone recycling.

It's easy to help:

Remember to remove SIM cards. It is not possible to return cards.

  • You can send your phone(s) in a strong plain envelope clearly marked arc in the top left corner, addressed to 'FREEPOST Fonebak Recycling' – that's all, no town, no postcode.
  • We can send a supply of freepost envelopes for you to pass out to family, friends and colleagues. We can also supply printed A4 posters for noticeboards in the workplace, so you can gather a number of phones to send.  Contact us at appeals@arc.org.uk
  • If you already have a number of phones to send, a free Fonebak container and courier collection can be arranged by phoning
