Here are a few ideas on what you can do to raise vital funds for arc at home, school or work and at the same time have fun!

Great ideas for kids and schools

  • Spellathon
  • Get paid for doing jobs around the house for a day/week
  • Pay/get sponsored to go in fancy dress or another theme e.g. football shirts, pyjamas, crazy hats, film/pop stars
  • Sponsored joke tell – how many can you tell in a day?

Great ideas for youth groups

  • Sponsored car wash
  • Sponsored penalty shoot out
  • Get sponsored to tidy someone’s garden or room
  • Sponsored sing – how many songs can you sing in 1 hour or 1 day?
  • Sponsored silence – maybe straight after the sponsored sing
  • Sponsored hopping, skipping and jumping
  • Get sponsored to see how many items of clothes you can wear at once

Great ideas for families, friends and groups

  • Organise a Bring & Buy Sale
  • Organise a themed party charging an entrance fee.  Great party themes; Fancy dress including pop stars, film stars, country’s national dress, cross-dressing and the decades (50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s), food themes; foods from different countries e.g. Indian, Chinese, Mexican, tapas, a chocoholics party, a pudding party, cheese and wine, wine-tasting party, Beers of the World party or a Medieval banquet!
  • Organise a cookery demonstration charging entrance fees
  • Sponsored dance e.g. line dancing, 60s, ballroom, barn dance
  • Quiz Night with an entrance fee per team or Quiz Sheet that costs £1–£2 to take part
  • Garden Party – invite friends and family round for an Easter Egg Hunt at Easter, Tea and Strawberries in the summer or a Blazing Barbecue or Bonfire Party in the autumn. The themes are endless.

Great ideas for everyone at work

  • Be a ‘Trolley Dolly’ for a day – get everyone to pay you to make the tea
  • Win ‘A Day off Work’ (with agreement from the boss first!!) – just think how much cash you would raise raffling off this prize
  • Never mind Wife Swap, what about Job Swap? – sponsor the boss to work on reception for a day, or sponsor ‘Tim in accounts’ to swap with ‘Joan in the canteen’!
  • Hair raising ideas! – organise a sponsored head shave, beard shave (or just half a beard!), leg wax or back wax
  • Make a mint with a swear box
  • Bake cakes and charge per slice
