arc seeks new trustees
At a time of major change and expansion, arc is looking to add three new trustees to its board. These individuals will bring experience of the leadership of change at board level of a large or complex not-for-profit organisation, government/political experience, and clinical/scientific academic leadership.
arc is the fourth largest medical research charity in the UK, and is in the process of expanding its activities. It is mounting a series of new initiatives aimed at accelerating the development of treatments and techniques which will lead to early and direct benefits for people who are affected by arthritis and related musculoskeletal conditions.
It is creating a new grouping of topic-related research centres that will concentrate on particular areas of endeavour which have an immediate impact on the lives of people with arthritis. The charity also plans a major expansion of its programme of clinical research and trials, to speed up the translation of the research it funds into new products and procedures. It intends to do this by harnessing the latent strength of a combined NHS, arc and pharmaceutical industry alliance.
These innovations and other initiatives will require much from the charity and its leadership; hence the need for new trustees with relevant expertise.
If you feel you have the experience in any of these areas and a contribution to make (or if you know anyone who might), please download an information pack from arc’s recruitment agency advisors, Saxton Bamfylde at www.saxbam.com/arc or email YARB@saxbam.com quoting YARB. Please include in your application a clear and succinct resumé of your relevant experience and full contact details. The closing date for applications is noon on Wednesday, August 20.
